Mr Sydney Jilaji, from SALGA, said “this training will assist councillors to execute their duties and monitor service delivery in the Municipality, with the ultimate goal to improve audit outcomes.”

The workshop focused on the following areas:

  • Ethical Leadership as a catalyst for effective oversight and accountability
  • Roles and responsibilities of internal municipal functionaries
  • Unauthorised, Irregular, Fruitless and Wasteful Reduction Strategy
  • Anti-fraud and Anti-corruption Awareness Campaign

Speaker of Council, Cllr Nalisile Mathetha said these trainings assist councillors to become better leaders of change in our communities.
